The timber is moderately hard to hard and moderately heavy with a density of 690-930 kg/m3 air dry. The timber is classified under medium hardwood in Malaysia. The sapwood is not defined from the heartwood, which is pale yellow to yellow-brown. Teature is fine and even, with straight or deeply interlocked grain. The timber has not been tested in the FRIM, Kepong. The timber is reported to be easy to work and the planed surface is dull but smooth. It is reputed to season well without serious defects. The timber is moderately durable but susceptible to termite attacks.
