This handbook provides a cultivation technique of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.)

on sand tailings. Kenaf is a multipurpose plant suitable for production of

fibers and other products. Kenaf had been recommended by National Economic

Action/Council (NEAC) as a new potential crop for the agricultural sector in the

8th Malaysian Plan. Sand tailings are a waste resulted from tin mining activities

and it is an extremely poor productivity site. In addition, it is contaminated with
