Harvesting study of Gigantochloa scortechinii natural stands were conducted in two forested sites in Peninsular Malaysia using four harvesting techniques. After 18 months, it was found that the harvesting techniques and clump types gave highly significant effects on the emergence of new culms and dying culms. There was no effect of sites between Nami and Betau. Based on this study, X-shaped harvesting technique is recommended for natural bamboo management due to little destruction and lower initial removal of bamboo culms (7.1%).
