FRIM has built its reputation as a renowned tropical and forestry research institution both at the local and international levels. To landmark its strength and prowess, FRIM has gallantly constructed an iconic structure consisting of four balau columns. Each column was beautifully and traditionally carved based on two different plant motifs to reflect nature and the skilled local craftsmanship. These columns were then erected at different heights to signify the richness of biodiversity at FRIM and Malaysia, in general.
