Threatened timber species are categorised as timber trees that face a very high risk of extinction in the wild. The conservation status of local timber species is still not known to many. Only a small community is au courant about the number of commercial timber species that have been considered as elusive and classified as threatened. In order to accomplish the positive outcomes from conservation initiatives, commitment from every individual in the entire forestry network is essential. This checklist aims to create awareness and disseminates information about the threatened timber species of Peninsular Malaysia to the downstream parties, i.e. saw millers, traders, architects, engineers and ultimately to the whole timber community.
