The centre was established in a Tri-Partite effort between FRIM, Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) and SHELL Malaysia Bhd. to increase awareness of nature and the environment and to reach out to the public especially children. The NEC is managed by the MNS and receives an annual grant from SHELL Malaysia Bhd. The NEC provides nature-related activities which aimed to instill positive attitude, appreciation and care for our natural heritage through “hands-on” and participatory learning methods.
